Basic Postback Enabled
After a day off at GCexpo the API has had some further amendments allowing basic postbacks to occur. This now means a survey can be read from Vision and submitted back without even needing to visit the Vision page itself!
So why not updates yesterday? Well myself and Nick were at GCexpo in London which is an annual exhibition where some of the most high profile IT companies exhibit pushing their business into IT within the Public Sector. This years event was one of the best and attracting names like Sir Clive Woodward as a speaker the calibre of delegate was high.
Whats Changed?
Finally the submit button has been re-enabled! An XML Post Proxy allows XML to be relayed back to Vision and so now responses can be stored in the database. At the moment the XML is created client side and it only really supports Radio Buttons because Vision handles multiple responses in a different way to which the JavaScript library creates the XML but it works!!
Also, some basic level security has been added requiring the Campaign List function and Survey function to require both the ClientID and Token to prevent incrementing IDs.
What Next!?
Well now the postback works the XSL will be amended for all question types. Once this is done the JavaScript library can be firmed up to support postbacks of all types and then we can look at getting some real time graphics! Exciting times are ahead... keep checking backfor updates!!
